I have used the Colt in my furniture business and found it to be of the best quaility. Problems I have read about in some of the reveiws were found to be non-existent. They arise from operator error in use. Example, the chuck and bit are indeed 90 degrees to the base when mounted, however, if you do not twist the motor into the lock position after setting the height and lock it, it will be off by approx. 1 degree.
As with many tools out today, the manufactors have a reason for suppling instructions for use. Small procedures left out in operation which result in poor results are often blamed on the tool.
Like the old saying goes, " If you make it idiot proof, they just make a better idiot." Buy this tool and you can not go wrong when it is used for what it was intended.
